I have a bit of mixed feelings about letting go of summer, but there’s nothing really like autumn. So you say that every year, right? So, dreaming of my sandals and dreaming of swimming in the ocean (I only did once this summer… I failed), I thought we could help us feel here, happening, happening, and comfortable. If there’s nothing else, I guarantee that your serotonin levels will rise from seeing all of these beautiful rooms. Let’s start with something bold:)
outline
This was mean, but it has grown slowly over the past year. The first two examples of these are the “high-end version.” I believe both of these “outlines” look incredibly chic as wood. Obviously, high contrast is the name of the game. The example on the left is more classic contrast molding details, but gives the effect that the trend is trying to achieve…drama. I think dark but warm wood molding against warm white walls is in my dream home. The example on the left is a much more intentional overview of the room, such a statement without many colors or materials. What you need to consider is remodeling 🙂
But you don’t need expensive wood to give this look to the room. Both of these examples used paint! The example on the left has created its own outline. This is very creative. The example on the right then simply traced the ceiling and gave a little extra, both subtle and statement. In fact, if you follow our girl Mallory, she did a version of this In her bedroom closet cabinet, And it looks so amazing!
Slightly thin taupe curtain
Taupe, nature, flax and more are all colors found in this “trend”. These warm neutral curtains are really everywhere! It’s not just a little new idea, but people trade white and cream for taupe, especially in high-end homes. All of these houses had me look, so I made the same decision in my bedroom (photographing is happening in 2.5 weeks!!!). Let’s see how happy Bobby Frey is in his taupe-covered living/dining room? We all have to be happy to sit in our home 🙂
If you want to get a blackout, it’s totally great and your phone. However, this “trend” is related to semi-share. You want that warm sunlight to pass through those curtains and create a happy and warm glow. I can’t tell you from personal experience, it’s magic. This iconic Eames home is the perfect example of (obviously) not something new, but completely timeless and charming.
Burgundy
Burgundy is on our bait or home in one minute, with no signs of it being slow anytime soon. When people and designers get bold and cover the whole room with it, I adore it. She’s gross, sexy and very attractive. How amazing are those spaces? ! Personally, I love burgundy, which is a bit leaning towards a brown, but there are plenty of different options to try.
Personally, drawing an entire room would be a little too much for you. What about these beautiful sofa-like furniture? Scroll through the photo and you’ll see the coolest cylinder bar cabinet in a similar Burgundy tone. For me, Burgundy = cool sophistication.
Of course, it can be made even smaller. These two spaces come with furniture-based Burgundy accents, but pillows, vases, throws, candlesticks and more are great ways to add this colour to your home, whether it’s in the fall/winter season or indefinitely. This colour doesn’t go anywhere.
Color Palette – Burgundy, olive, blue, ochre
Now, Caitlyn gets all the credits for this! She has very incredible eyes for the color palette, and as soon as she mentioned it, I realized it was a variety of variations across my saved photos. If you take the bedroom on the left, the tone is more subtle, which makes your eyes softer, but it’s still very fun and eclectic. A shapeless studio It’s always ahead of the curve. Speaking of trendsetters, Flack Studio Another unrealistic design studio that is always bringing creativity to the forefront. This furniture factory, which became a home, is a feast for the eyes and is extremely adhering to this overall colour palette. But like in the bedroom, the colors are all pretty midtone and not overly saturated, so they don’t over-irritate visually. It’s just incredible.
Obviously people really feel this colour palette in their bedroom. What I love is that you can really make it your own based on the colour you want to emphasize. I think green is the main colour of both spaces, but the room on the left leaning further against Burgundy/purple, while the room on the right leaning more towards blue.
Loose design Every room I design is perfect, so I’m another studio that I sincerely trust in the mix of colors. This is a more liberal view of the trendy colour palette, but there’s no way to feel that it’s outdated anytime soon, as all of these spaces are done beautifully.
European tapestry (it’s an acquisition!!)
These idyllic tapestries are bigger than they’ve been in for a while! I can’t scroll anything without seeing a handful of rooms inside. We are obviously a huge fan. If you can find something big (I think it’s subjective), it is the most beautiful piece of statement. I love how these two bedrooms use them to give the fantasy of almost huge headboards. Also, stylistically, they are versatile. The room on the left is very clean, somewhat grossy and intentionally offers the exterior of a luxury hotel. The room on the right is still beautiful, but with a lighter “happy” colour palette, giving it a more relaxed feel. Both tapestry really makes the room sing.
I loved the appearance of the panel tapestry so I wanted to include this 🙂
However, bedrooms are not the only ideal room for this type of tapestry. Always give us a big tapestry in the living room. How much movement, texture and soul they add to the space is just wild. Of course, you don’t need to put them on the wall. Pillows and furniture are also displayed on the same type of fabric. This is a really fun twist.
A whimsical bed
My final observation is that many of the beds I see are becoming more whimsical. I love it. This room is a stunning hotel suite, but its canopy style shows more in my feed. Remember the em of the first shared children’s room designed for her kids at Ross Ferris’s home?
This is not a hotel, it is in a magical house. The children sleeping here are very fortunate. I also love that the canopy is arranged in a traditional way and instead comes from the side.
There is also the option to create a DIY frame drape headboard like a design influencer. Marco Zamora I did it in his bedroom. It’s all so romantic!
But it’s not just a large piece of draped fabric. We also notice more whimsical details on the wooden headboard. Both of these are great interpretations. So if you need a sign to go on a whim in your bed, I’ll say I’ll go for it 🙂
That’s all I have today. Any thoughts? Are there any other trends you noticed? Let’s chat.
Love you and it means it.
