It’s been a while since I last wrote a product review. YSL Beauty I was sent some promotional material for their beauty products and wanted to share it here since it’s my first time using their makeup. This luxury brand is known for both a clean French-girl aesthetic (dewy skin and blush lip) and a bolder, haute couture aesthetic (smudged eyes and nude lips), so you can create a variety of looks depending on your style.
I received five different products that I combined to create a quick five-minute face routine, and below are my first impressions of them.
All Hours Creaseless Precise Angle Concealer
Summary: A creamy, crease-resistant, full-coverage concealer with a unique multi-use applicator that delivers a natural, soft matte finish that lasts up to 24 hours and is moisturizing. Full Coverage Matte
First impressions: The color I was sent was a bit too warm for my skin tone, but I liked the formula and it worked well for me. It doesn’t settle completely natural, but it does provide good coverage and doesn’t make my eyes look creasing. I only use it on days when I need minimal coverage, but I’m interested to see how it blends with my foundation.
Lash Crush Extreme Volume Mascara
Features: Couture mascara with an extra-large brush and fragrance-free, paraben-free formula. Vibrant color and superb volume that lasts all day. Smudge-resistant.
First impressions: I love that this mascara makes your lashes look natural but more defined, but I can’t say it doesn’t smudge. I have oily eyelids so anything that isn’t waterproof smudges a little, so I’ll have to try it with a primer and/or set my concealer with powder to see how it goes, but overall I like the formula.
YSL Love Shine Lip Oil Stick
What it is: The color of lipstick, the smoothness of oil. A lipstick-oil hybrid with six nourishing oils to hydrate lips. A creamy, buildable formula for 24-hour hydration.
First impressions: The color is sheer, the formula is very creamy yet lightweight and feels amazing on the lips. I would recommend this if you want a sheer layer of color rather than a gloss formula.
All Hours 24H Hyper Sunkissed Glow Bronzer
What it is: A silky-soft bronzer with a subtle glow, housed in a luxurious couture clutch, gives skin a natural, healthy-looking, sun-kissed glow for up to 24 hours.
First Impressions: I was instantly hooked. Such a great formula, leaves skin looking healthy and radiant. Sometimes bronzers can be too flat or too shimmery and distort the color, but this is the perfect formula and makes you look sun kissed. It immediately made it into my everyday makeup bag.
Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick
Features: A jelly lip gloss stick that combines the glassy shine of a gloss with the caring properties of a balm. The non-sticky formula melts on your lips for a more hydrated, juicy look.
First impressions: This one also feels nice on the lips, but it’s more of a gloss, and like the Lip Oil Stick, it’s great for creating a more natural beauty look.
Overall, I was impressed with everything and will continue to use it in the future. IG first impression video Check it out too. I love how sophisticated and luxurious the packaging is. It’s a bit extravagant, but if you’re someone who always buys different versions of the same product (but they’re cheap), it might be worth a try and investment. All products are Sephora!
