Life passes by so quickly, but one basketball player is doing her best to make the most of her 24 hours. After wrapping up work with her team, WNBA star Angel Reese attended her first Met Gala, mingling with everyone from Zendaya to Tyra.
Reese has never been afraid to work hard, show off her fashion or girly side — fans have dubbed her “Bayou Barbie” for her love of haute couture, tossing her hair up during matches and showing off her voluminous lashes — and she’s fully embraced it and is full steam ahead.
Now, she’s truly living her dream: She’s playing basketball at a professional level in the WNBA after being drafted in April, and she’s looking her best on the red carpet at fashion’s biggest night: the infamous Met Gala.
That’s right, her big gala debut coincided with Reese turning 22. It was a whirlwind day for the Angel, starting with a team practice and ending with her wearing heels on the red carpet. But her career is just beginning, and this is likely just the beginning of her foray into the celebrity fashion world.
At the Met Gala, Angel showed off her model-like physique while rocking a dreamy garden fairy look. She wore a gorgeous and fun mint green 16Arlington by Marco Capaldo gown that featured a sheer, floor-length skirt and sparkly embellishments, including feather detailing all around the waist.

The ensemble made for dreamy photos and looked amazing paired with her super sleek, deep, classic center-parted ponytail, proving that a night out hairstyle doesn’t have to be over the top, or over the top to make a statement.
But we can’t talk about fashion without talking about accessories—especially shoes. Shoes can easily ruin a great outfit. Luckily, Reese’s footwear matched perfectly. She paired her pretty dress with Stuart Weitzman’s Eva 75 slingback heels, which continued the theme of her sparkly outfit and are hand-adorned with over 600 crystals.
So, our favorite Barbie has definitely done her styling homework – and she’s up to the task. We wish her a great WNBA rookie season and can’t wait to see what looks she’ll feast our eyes on next.
