Congratulations on your pregnancy! I’m already 10 months postpartum!

That’s unbelievable.

As a mom-to-be, you’re doing everything you can to keep yourself and your baby healthy and happy.

One of the most troublesome things during pregnancy is sticking to a diet. While there are many foods that can help you stay healthy during pregnancy, there are also some foods that you should avoid. Here is a brief list of foods to avoid.

1. Raw or undercooked meat: These can be a source of harmful bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella.

2. Fish with high mercury content: Certain fish like swordfish, shark and mackerel have high mercury content and can be toxic to your baby.

3. Unpasteurized dairy products: Products like raw milk and cheese can contain harmful bacteria and are best avoided.

4. Processed Meats: Processed meats may contain nitrates, which are not ideal for your baby’s development.

5. Caffeine: Small amounts of caffeine are usually fine, but it’s best to limit your intake during pregnancy.

Avoiding these foods will help keep you and your baby healthy and happy. Always discuss any concerns you may have about diet during pregnancy with your obstetrician-gynecologist, doctor, or midwife.
