Beautiful lady,
When it comes to thicker ankles, I know all too well. They used to be one of those parts of my body I wished were a little thinner, but that’s not the case anymore. Over the years, I’ve come to embrace them. The things in life that you can’t change don’t have to be negative. Learn how to work with them! There were countless shoes and ankle accessories I once couldn’t wear, but thanks to curiosity and my local shoe repair shop, a whole new world has opened up. Gone are the days of limiting myself and my fashion.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, trust me, I’m going to share it with you. These life hacks really helped me to know that there is always a workaround. So let’s get started…
3 life hacks to make your ankles thicker
1. Add a necklace extender to your anklet to make it fit around your ankle.
For the longest time, I’ve loved the look of anklets. They’re fun, sexy, even a little sexy, but I just couldn’t find any that fit my ankles. That all changed when I went to Atlanta a few years ago. I was browsing H&M and found a cute anklet on sale for $1. I wanted to put it to good use, and finally an idea occurred to me: add an extender. I’d been adding extenders to my necklaces to add a little length, but I’d never thought to add an extender to an anklet.
Once I finally got the anklet extender, I was speechless! I thought it was so cute and I’ve been wearing it ever since. ASOS We sell wide fit anklets Curved section I bought these online – I ordered one earlier this year and they fit perfectly even without the extenders – I love that there are multiple ways you can achieve the style you want.
2. Most shoe repair shops can extend the ankle strap to fit your ankle.
I see… I know there are stores like Lane Bryant and Torrid that make wider shoes and have longer ankle straps, but sometimes the straps on these shoes still aren’t wide enough. Plus, stores like Target sometimes have a variety of shoes that other stores don’t. I was tired of finding really cute shoes but not being able to wear them because of the straps, so I went down the street to the shoe repair store and asked if there was anything they could do.
They quickly told me that I could extend the ankle strap by sewing a length of fabric onto the strap with the hole in it. or I made an elastic piece with a longer fastening. For one pair of shoes, I actually did both, but the extension was so subtle you wouldn’t even notice. Since then, I haven’t had to worry about ankle straps, especially with online orders because I always have a back-up solution in case something goes wrong.

3. Try wearing high-top sneakers or long boots to make your ankles look slimmer.
Well, let me preface this by saying that having thick ankles is not a bad thing at all, and this hack is only for those who want to make their ankles look thinner and want a little shoe secret.
I remember when I wasn’t a big fan of sneakers, but now I’m crazy about them. As I got more into sneakers, I realized that high tops make my legs and ankles look slimmer. The same goes for tall boots. From combat boots to knee-high boots, both of them make your ankles look slimmer.
