Two things that help me start my day are prayer and reading. My PrayerIf you follow me Instagram or TwitterMany of you are probably well aware that I share a portion of a prayer each day. I started sharing some of my prayers a few years ago because I knew they were so good that they might bless others too. This week’s portion of the prayer spoke about friendship and prayed for the friendships in your life. It was so good that I read it over and over again throughout the week. I thought it would be great to share a variation of that prayer on this blog.
Praying about friendships is very important because the people you are close to often have the greatest impact on your life. That’s why it’s often said that good friendships help you smile more, level up, and live your best life. The same can be said about bad relationships. If you hang out with the wrong people, they can quickly become bad relationships. That’s why it’s important to pray about all the relationships in your life.

A prayer for friendship
“Lord, I pray for those you have brought into my life. Bless healthy relationships and give me the wisdom to handle difficult relationships in a way that pleases and honors You. If there are friendships I need to leave or that are harming me, show me what to do and give me the grace and confidence to do so. If there are relationships that are draining me and taking me away from Your plans and purposes for me, I trust You to either end them or change them for the better.
Please show me and work your amazing power in my life when I need to change. I need you and your wisdom to recognize the friends and companions I need in my life. Lead me away from relationships that lead me away from the path you have chosen for me. Send godly and wise people into my life so that we can bless, encourage, strengthen, and contribute to the quality of each other’s lives.
Please show me friendships worth fighting for. Lord, may You be the Lord of all my relationships. I pray that all my friendships will be just as You want them to be. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen!”
Isn’t this so amazing? So amazing I had to share it. And I feel this is so important because now that I’m in my 30s, I’ve had a lot of great friendships, but I’ve also had to let go of some. I really believe in the power of praying for the people in your life. The right people can really be a blessing.
