The past few weeks have been very busy with client work. Homewood Suites by Hilton Memphis – Germantown They invited me on a mini staycation and it was really hard! Now that the renovations are nearly complete, we were looking forward to relaxing in our updated suite for a few days.
Therefore, at this location, all rooms are cozy suites with fully equipped kitchens. We also have a 24-hour fitness center, business center, pool, pet-friendly rooms, free Wi-Fi and grab-and-go breakfast, a gift/snack shop, and the opportunity to relax by the fireplace in the lobby. Basically, if you didn’t want to leave the site for two days, you didn’t have to.
The first night I went there, I checked in, grabbed some snacks, put on some cozy socks (the team left me a cute little gift basket with treats), drank some tea, worked on a puzzle, and watched my favorite movie. vicky christina barcelona. It was so nice to be able to just relax without worrying about housework or computer work (like I do at home). I was free to thaw and enjoy the evening.
I had a mani/pedi appointment the next morning. Nail Bar & Company in saddle creek (It’s only about 5 minutes away) so I was able to get some sleep before heading on. That night I was heading to orpheum to see notes I was with my sister-in-law, so once we were done indulging, we had a latte and went back to our room to relax, read a magazine, or just relax and listen to music (I’m really into Olivia Dean’s new album right now).
The drive back from downtown that night was a little longer than usual, but it was quick and easy to get to the hotel. I decided to stay up late and watch a movie in bed (when was the last time you saw Fright Night?) and was able to wake up just in time to eat breakfast before it was over. They are known for their breakfast tacos, but if mini waffles are on the menu, I always have them! Ha!
After breakfast, I still had some time before checkout, so I decided to read a little before packing up and leaving (thank goodness I was able to check out at noon!). The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out was easy. It was really the break I needed. The only thing missing was time by the pool, but due to the low temperatures and rain two days ago, we weren’t able to sit outside and enjoy it. But that just means I’ll have to go again when it’s warmer!
