Pride Chat…
Butler fashion designer Linda Idegwu
What inspired you to create DearCurves?
My mother works as a fashion designer and she has always created really nice clothes for us to wear. I watched her and her employees work in the studio, sewing fabrics and marking out clothes. I wanted to be part of the fashion industry. The clothing and materials were intriguing me. I worked as a plus size model for a while and felt that this was the right time to trace my dreams and create my own plus size clothing line.
What makes other plus size brands unique?
I’m Africa and I love Africa, so the brand is about all aspects of Africa. African culture inspires me, from food to women. I feel this represents the brand, so I use only materials and fabrics sourced from Africa. I incorporate materials such as silk, satin, cotton, and other for a more modern look in some items, but I have always remained true to my dear purpose.
What can we expect next season?
We are forked into America. This is where many customers are based, and our range is located in department stores such as Macy’s. Also, more designs are shown, and I am working on further expansion of flattering and beautiful clothing for twisty women.

Ritaoraon… British fashion
“For me, British fashion is very unpredictable. I love it. Looking at British designs, I feel there’s a sense of history when I look at the entire background story behind the looks.
For the love of colour
If you don’t know yet – this summer is all about colour. The easiest way to add a splash of color to your look is to use some high voltage vibrant bags. So whether it’s a clutch, shoulder bag or satchel, the only way is to color.
