Congratulations on your pregnancy, mom! Pregnancy is an amazing time in life where you go through a lot of changes, both physically and mentally. With Ava, my skin was really good until after the baby was born. Here are some things you may experience:
When it comes to your skin, you may notice breakouts, stretch marks, dryness, etc. If you are one of the lucky ones who have not experienced these, how does it feel to be God’s favorite? Lol. Just kidding…
Here are some essential skin care products that every pregnant woman should consider adding to her skin care routine.
1. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is an essential part of life, especially when it comes to skin care during pregnancy. Using sunscreen before going outside can help prevent sunburn, premature aging, and even skin cancer caused by the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. Sunscreen also helps reduce the risk of sunburn, which can be especially unpleasant during pregnancy. When choosing a sunscreen, look for one with a broad-spectrum formula with an SPF of 30 or higher. Additionally, be sure to choose a sunscreen that’s free of parabens, phthalates, and other potentially harmful chemicals.
May I share some of my favorite sunscreens with you?
2. Moisturizer
During pregnancy, hormones can make your skin dry and itchy. Moisturizers help lock in your skin’s natural moisture and protect it from environmental damage. When choosing a moisturizer, look for one that is specially formulated to be free of harsh chemicals and fragrances.
3. Cleanser
During pregnancy, I noticed that my skin was getting oilier at the end of the day. A cleanser helps to remove dirt, oil, and bacteria from the skin while also maintaining the skin’s natural pH balance. When choosing a cleanser, look for one that is specially designed for sensitive skin that is gentle on the skin.
4. Lip Mask
There are a variety of products that are specially formulated for use during pregnancy to address all of your skin care concerns without the worry of introducing harmful chemicals into your developing baby.
