I finally went to see the most talked about movie of the season. If you know me, you know that I’m a total fearful cat. I usually avoid anything labeled as a “thriller,” but this one isn’t about jump scares. It’s all tension. The kind that sneaks under your skin and won’t let go.
From the very first scene, this movie always keeps you in a state of: What if? Every time you think you’ve solved the code boom, a new twist is added and the story spins in a completely new direction. Just when you feel confident, the rug is pulled out from under you again. Psychological, fascinating, and… thought-provoking.
It reminded me of something my grandmother used to say: Don’t let other women move into your house. Two women under one roof looking for trouble. It’s old wisdom, to be sure, but as you watch this story unfold, you can’t help but feel there’s some truth to it. Add glamor, power dynamics, and secrets to the mix, and suddenly nothing is safe. Let’s be honest: History has shown us that even when we try to do everything “right”, confusion can creep in.
housekeeper is a highly entertaining and tense thriller starring Sidney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, based on the best-selling novel. Directed by Paul Feig, the film dives headfirst into a glossy world where perfection is an illusion and danger hides behind immaculate walls. As Millie (Sweeney) tries to overcome her past, she takes a live-in job as a housekeeper with the wealthy and mysterious Nina (Seyfried) and her husband Andrew (Brandon Skenner). What begins as an opportunity for a fresh start quickly turns into a fascinating and dangerous game of secrets, control, and betrayal.
Behind closed doors, nothing is what it seems and twists and turns continue to occur.
This is absolutely Girls’ night out movie. I went with six of my girlfriends and we all sat in our seats, panting and whispering. The drama is layered, the wardrobe is spectacular, the scenery is sumptuous, and Amanda Seyfried gives a delicious performance that is both mesmerizing and unsettling.
Go see it with your friends and enjoy the suspense, plot twists, and inevitable “wait…what the hell just happened?” moment. Trust me, this is a ride. we all tried it 8/10see more inside..
