Keyshia Cole helped open the 2025 BET Awards as part of a nostalgic homage to the 2000s. She joined fellow R&B icons Amerie and Mýa in an emotional turn of events for the classic hit “I Selech Cheated” and to celebrate the influence of the times on music and culture.
Later on the show, she returned to the stage for an outstanding collaboration with Rising Rap Star Glorilla. Together, they debuted their new track, “Typa.” This sample Keyshia’s beloved 2005 single “Love.” Dressed in sophisticated black and white, Kiesia combines soulful vocals with fresh, modern edges to deliver the song’s signature hook live.
The performance balances the energy of throwback and cool modern cool, winning rave reviews from fans and media.
On the red carpet, Keesia appeared heartwarmingly with her two sons, 14-year-old Daniel Gibson Jr. and 5-year-old Tobias. The proud mom, now 43, sparkles as she takes pictures and posses with the boys, adding a personal and affectionate touch to the bed award night.
