Idris Elba recently spoke about some of the standout moments in his career and personal life, including being knighted by the British government in recognition of his philanthropy with young people and his continued efforts to uplift disadvantaged communities. This honor, which is deeply meaningful to both himself and his family, recognizes not only his influence in entertainment, but also his dedication to social change through the Elva Hope Foundation.
The actor also shared a lighthearted moment regarding the newly unveiled Madame Tussauds London wax figure. Famously, he successfully unlocked his phone using Face ID, leaving his fans equally amused and surprised. Wearing the same suit and Christian Louboutin shoes that Elba wore when he met King Charles III, the surreal figure marked what he called a “full circle” moment and paid homage to his Hackney roots.
Elba also talked about his creative process while filming Season 2 of Hijack for Apple TV+. The high-stakes thriller, in which his character navigates an intense hostage situation in real time, moves from a hijacked plane to the subway in the new season. Even during the adrenaline-fueled production of the show, Elba seamlessly blended his passions for acting and songwriting, revealing that he often found himself writing music between takes.
