Looks like I’ve officially found my travel uniform. Every few months, I have to fly on a plane for work or play. One thing I’ve started doing is wearing matching sets to the airport. I used to be a “put on a dress and go right away” type of girl, but between unpredictable airport temperatures and freezing planes, I needed something a little more practical. A good set will make everything easier. It’s comfortable to move around in, it has pockets (thank you Lord!), and it looks put together when you’re walking around the terminal and not like when you just rolled out of bed.
In addition to wearing a matching set, I usually go makeup-free during flights. Apply plenty of moisturizer, keep your jewelry to a minimum, and wear sneakers when it’s chilly and Birkenstock-style sandals when it’s warm. It looks effortlessly chic, and if you need to head somewhere as soon as you land, you’re already wearing something that looks great.
If you’re thinking of creating your own travel uniform (and trust me, not having to think about what to wear at 6am is really nice), we’ve rounded up some of the best sets from around the web to get you started.
I tend to lean toward black, neutral, or muted tones, but you can go in any direction depending on your personal style. Our goal is to make your journey as comfortable as possible. The older you get, the more you want certain things to be easier, and this combination works just fine.
What should you wear when going to the airport?
