I’ve always been a fan elf I’ve been using them since the $1 days, but over the last few months I’ve really fallen in love with their products, especially their skincare. Earlier this year, I became addicted to SkinTok and almost destroyed my skin barrier from trying so many products. I’ve always had “hard” skin, and no matter how many times I tried it, it never got rough, but in my 40s, I realized that a lot of products aimed at “anti-aging” had appeared on the market, and many of them were extremely drying. I have combination oily skin, so I want to balance out the oil content, but I don’t want my skin to be deprived of too much of its natural oils and dry out when I smile.
My skin started to break out after trying all these different products, so I wanted to reset and go back to a very simple, gentle routine with a little exfoliation mixed in. I tried a few gentle cleansers and nothing really worked, so I picked up the next product on a whim. Elf’s sacred hydration! collection My skin loved it right away.
Once I got back to the basics (cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen), my skin improved tremendously. You don’t necessarily have to use products from the same line, but my skin drank it all up. Their skin care products are vegan and cruelty-free, yet extremely affordable. Skin needs hydration. When I was younger, it made sense to “dry out” my skin and it worked, but now I can’t risk it to clear my skin. It just doesn’t bounce back the same way. I still exfoliate two to three times a week, but for the most part it’s all about hydration, hydration, hydration. I don’t do skin floods, but I do layer them.
I slowly added vitamin c serum I also alternate between using salicylic acid pads on heavy makeup days, but my daily focus is on: cleansing and set the toneAnd their “Serum ( hyaluronic acid and their thirst quenches) before topping moisturizer and eye cream (I also wear sunscreen during the day.) Their products absorb quickly and aren’t heavy at all, leaving my skin feeling supple and refreshed.
There are some things I’d like to forever work on (I hate the large pores and dark circles on my cheeks), but overall my skin is the best it’s ever been.
Have you tried ELF skin care products?
