I started my beauty blog in 2008 or 2009. Times were different then. It was more fun and carefree. Also, things were cheaper and there were more opportunities. That shouldn’t stop you from getting started now, but there are some things to consider. Starting a channel or blog is expensive. It’s easy to feel left out, especially when you want to be noticed.
Here are some tips to get you started with the OG.
Set your budget
Unfortunately, you can’t buy everything. It’s too much and it’s not healthy. Just my opinion as someone who is still getting rid of makeup from 9 years ago, but set a monthly budget and buy only what you need. Don’t go over your budget (lol).
High-end isn’t it all
For example, you can use a drugstore palette as a makeup alternative to the more expensive eyeshadow brands sold by Sephora. Whether you want to create a smoky eye look or a natural everyday makeup look, the drugstore is sure to have what you need. A $78 palette can easily gather dust on a shelf.
If you want to save money, you will definitely love this. Instead of buying loads of makeup products you may not use, collect free samples. Next time you go to Sephora, don’t forget to ask the beauty sales associates for samples. Collect points and redeem them for makeup products. Ask your friends and family for makeup products on your birthday or Christmas. Lastly, join these sample sites that ask for your opinion.
