On the afternoon of Friday, November 21st, as I was quietly writing my blog, the soft, nostalgic melody of Case’s “Happy Ever After” began to play in the room. I looked up and saw my boyfriend walking in playfully, smiling, and I couldn’t help but smile back. He was sitting next to me with a bag in his hand, and I was still half-focused on my work until he gently asked for my full attention.
When I turned to him, his whole demeanor had changed to one warm, serious, and full of emotion. I asked if I was okay…and that’s when he slowly got down on one knee and started saying my name, reminding me of how long we had loved each other. Realizing what was happening, I immediately burst into tears and ran into my bedroom closet to hide in classic me. He followed me, laughing quietly, and said, “Can we finish now?” I nodded, tears streaming down my face. And in that quiet, magical little moment, he asked me to be his wife.
Guys…I love this man more than words can express. Kelvin is romantic, thoughtful, and consistent, and he has been my heart since the day we met. When we passed each other at pickleball in April 2024, he dropped his cell phone. I picked it up and he smiled…and from that moment on we never stopped talking. When my mother suddenly passed away just a month later in June, she quit her job to support me. Since then, he has shown up for me in every way. There is no drama or uncertainty, just pure peace, security, and happiness.
He has never been married and has no children, but most people know that I am divorced with two adult children and two grandchildren. My family adores him and he is now completely one of us. After spending more than 20 years in Florida, he returned to Georgia, where he grew up. He attended The Citadel, became a Captain in the Air Force, and went on to have a successful career in top-level security. Currently, he has a stable, prestigious and reliable job in the field of medical security.
And now…we are planning a wedding next year! I truly feel immeasurably blessed. I’ve never met anyone like him, so I’m very proud to be his wife.
What about the ring? He gave me the most amazing Tiffany. “Tiffany Novo” Engagement ring…my first ring I tried on last year. He remembered! What’s even crazier is that I stopped by Tiffany’s just a few days ago to get my fingers resized and… same The sales consultant had sold him the ring the day before without my knowledge. What are the odds? I had to go back to resize and she just smiled knowingly. pure magic.
My heart becomes full. My fairy tale has begun…✨💍💕
