Country music is hotter than peppers roasting in the desert sun right now. Queen Beyoncé is still selling and dominating the charts with her new album, “Cowboy Carter.” But there are other black artists and musicians who are also representing the genre with flair. Country star Shamboozy, for example, just released “VEGAS” and announced new concert dates.
Vegas is a fun song that’s easy to get stuck in your head. Shamboozy has successfully used social media to build a fanbase and expand his presence and popularity in the music world. On YouTube alone, his song A BAR SONG has received nearly 7 million plays in less than 14 days. His new song VEGAS has already received 247,000 plays and counting.
But Vegas isn’t just a meaningless track. It’s a sing-along, reflective track released on EMPIRE. Singing over a production that transports the listener to the Wild West, Shaboozey laments a past filled with long nights and unrewarded risks. Listen to the track here.
Shaboozee performed the single on a special show in March. Colors Studio The session garnered over 200,000 plays (in the first two weeks after its release), and a live performance of “Vegas” was featured on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s digital “Late Show Me Music” series. Watch the performance here.
“Vegas was the first record that influenced the direction of my next album,” Shaboozey says. “We wanted to make Americana songs that were raw and felt like modern Western ballads.”
Shaboozie has over 130.9 million total streams and over 500 million views on TikTok. Billboard called the Virginia native’s previous single “Let It BurnThe song, which is described as a “unique blend of guitar-driven country, R&B and hip-hop elements with pop melody and a powerful message,” reached number 8 on Spotify’s Viral 50 chart in the U.S., garnering over 2.8 million streams.
