With a series of spectacular visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances, LUZIA takes audiences on a surreal journey through a vibrant world full of wonder, playfulness, and impressive artistry. Transitioning smoothly from old movie sets to the ocean, smoky dance halls and arid deserts, LUZIA deftly brings to the stage Mexico’s multiple locations, faces and sounds, drawn from both tradition and modernity. With mesmerizing and refreshing acrobatic performances, LUZIA takes traditional and contemporary circus disciplines to a whole new level. Sill Wheel artists perform unprecedented feats of rolling and spinning in the rain, while aviators suspended from trapezes fly and circle through the pouring rain. Hoop diving is performed on a giant treadmill, which dramatically increases the speed and volume of the bold jumps performed. Stunning highlights include a male acrobat who deftly twists his body into the world’s most unimaginable positions and a powerful aerial strap specialist who defies the laws of gravity at center stage. cenote (a natural sinkhole), a juggler who throws seven pins at breakneck speed, and two football (soccer) freestylers who expertly combine street dancing with incredible ball handling.
