Last month I celebrated 14 years (yes, 4 years!) of blogging, and honestly, I still can’t believe so much time has passed. This past year has been full of a lot of changes, and to be honest, it’s made me quite late in posting here (well, in general, really), but over the past few months… A new sense of creativity was born. Creating content has become really fun again.
I’ve worked with a few brands and to be honest, I just generally enjoy creating content. Too often, we get so caught up in monetizing and getting attention for our brand that we forget the fun that comes with just creating. Do you want to earn thousands of dollars by blogging and influencing? Absolutely! But that’s not the purpose of my platform or why I started in the first place. I really like sharing products, clothes, food and experiences, and working with brands (and getting paid for it) is something I don’t take for granted, but I love sharing my thoughts and experiences. Creating a space where recommendations can be freely shared is a fun perk. Every time I feel so much better.
Last month was a busy one for me with HELLA. I worked with a lot of photography clients, but I also had some great opportunities to create content for social. We want to continue that in the fourth quarter. We are about to enter the holiday season. I need to flesh out my content ideas, but I love this time of year because it’s the season for gatherings with friends, holiday-focused experiences, and fashion. Ah, fall fashion! Since fall is my favorite season of the year, there are a few things I need to add to my wardrobe (I desperately need some new boots and cute shoes). I want to go out and enjoy seasonal fashion. Activities. I’ll be posting my fall bucket list soon, but just know that I’m super excited for this season!
I’ve been playing with videos more and more. Now that IG seems to hate photos, I have no choice but to jump on the bandwagon and start making reels. I really hated it at first, but I realized that just because I was essentially forced to make a video, it didn’t mean I had to do it a certain way. I’m an OG blogger, so my video content is more in line with old-school style vlogging. I try to include a lot of movement to keep it interesting, but I’m not trying to be a videographer. Overall, I want to be a better storyteller, whether it’s sharing experiences, new makeup, or personal style. I also post on TikTok, but I don’t take it seriously at all (lol).
What I mean by this is, “It’s okay to evolve.” Blogging is fun. If you want to blog for a long time, remember to create content in a way that is sustainable for you. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel (you’ll always need evergreen content). But don’t be afraid to try something new. You may discover another side of your creativity.
I’ll be posting here more often again, but if you’d like to follow me via social media as well, you can find me at: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and thread. i have too LTKI I’ll also be updating this page more regularly (in case you want to shop more). I’m planning on restarting the newsletter someday, but one thing at a time lol.
We have a lot to look forward to in Q4, so we hope you’ll stick with us for a while. As always, thank you for joining my community! Shit
