The 2024 Beetlejuice sequel, Beetlejuice: The Force Awakens, is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, scheduled for release on September 6, 2024. Directed by Tim Burton, this highly anticipated sequel to the 1988 classic will see Michael Keaton return as the iconic Beetlejuice and Winona Ryder reprise her role as Lydia Deetz. The film will also feature new cast members, including Jenna Ortega, who will play Lydia’s rebellious daughter Astrid, and Willem Dafoe in a yet-to-be-revealed role.
The story revolves around the Deetz family, who return to their haunted Winter River mansion after a tragic event. When Astrid accidentally opens a portal to the afterlife, Beetlejuice reappears and wreaks havoc once again. The film promises to be a mix of humor and horror, in Burton’s trademark dark and quirky style. In theaters on September 6th

Beetlejuice is back! Academy Award-nominated creative visionary Tim Burton and Academy Award-nominated star Michael Keaton reteam for Beetlejuice, the highly anticipated sequel to Burton’s award-winning film Beetlejuice.
Keaton returns to his iconic role alongside Oscar nominee Winona Ryder (Stranger Things, Little Women) as Lydia Deetz and two-time Emmy Award winner Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek, The Nightmare Before Christmas) as Delia Deetz. Newcomers to the cast include Justin Theroux (Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, The Leftovers), Monica Bellucci (Spectre, The Matrix series), making his feature film debut as Arthur Conti (House of Dragons), Emmy nominee Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream 6) as Lydia’s daughter Astrid, and Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe (Poor Things, At Eternity’s Gate).
Beetlejuice is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return to their Winter River home. Lydia continues to be haunted by Beetlejuice, and her life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter Astrid discovers a mysterious model of the town in the attic, accidentally opening a portal to the afterlife. Trouble ensues in both worlds, and when someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times, it’s only a matter of time before the mischievous demon returns to wreak havoc of his own.
Burton, who has a genre of his own, is directing from a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Wednesday), a story by Gough, Miller and Seth Grahame-Smith (The LEGO Batman Movie) and characters created by Michael McDowell and Larry Wilson. The film is produced by Mark Toberoff, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Tommy Harper and Burton, with Sarah Desmond, Katerine Frauenfelder, Gough, Miller, Brad Pitt, Larry Wilson, Lawrence Senelic, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lally, Anthony Tittanegro, Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg serving as executive producers.
