I’ll ask you an honest question: are blogs dead? If you’re here reading this, I know the answer is no. But how often do you actually visit blogs? I’m not going to lie, I don’t visit blogs as often as I should. This year that’s going to change!

Let’s get back to the blog!

I miss getting alerts when my favorite bloggers post something new. I even discovered new bloggers from my country from simple keywords. Like “Canadian beauty bloggers” or “Toronto beauty bloggers of 2010”. Now I search more specific like “Canadian mommy bloggers in Canada” or “Going to preschool in Ontario”…I can’t believe how life-changing it is. Anyway, I really miss long-form content. I’m also so happy to see so many people who have been away from blogging for so many years coming back to blogging. As for myself…I posted 208 blog posts in 2013! In 2022, I posted a terrible 11 posts. No, I didn’t forget the zeros…I’m talking 11. This year, I want to post at least one post a week and at worst two a month. When my blog was popular. I had high rankings. That’s something no one can take away from me. Here are some quick tips on how I did it.

1. Update

It sounds simple, but consistency is key. Remember, in 2013 I had 208 blog posts. At the time I was engaged, living at home, and had no real responsibilities. In my busy life, I have to strive to do anything close to that…I have to get even halfway there. Back to consistency…find a schedule and stick to it! Bulk write your posts, pick a date to publish. Do whatever it takes to stay focused.

2. Find your niche

What kind of audience are you trying to reach? My audience is all over the place. I love beauty, I love early childhood, I love weddings. I love the whole lifestyle thing.

3. Get social!

Facebook (yeah, I know), Twitter, or Instagram stories. Post the link everywhere. You never know who’ll click.
