I am very excited to announce that I have accepted a new position with the state. It’s officially starting next month, and I couldn’t be happier. This role is particularly meaningful to me because I get to help people who have been laid off or unemployed find new career opportunities. It feels like a fresh start to the new year, purposeful, fulfilling, and perfectly timed.
This new chapter brings with it an entirely new office space. I’ve already started thinking about how I want it to be my own. I don’t want to overdo it, but I want the space to feel warm and inviting, so that people feel at ease as soon as they walk in. Creating a welcoming environment is important to me, especially since this office is where encouragement, guidance, and new beginnings happen every day.
Anyone who knows me knows that I like my spaces to have a bit of personality. My previous office was playful and fun, with a Disney vibe that always encouraged conversation and made people feel relaxed. It’s become a place that my colleagues love to stop by and hang out, and I’m eager to bring that same energy to this new space. But this time, we’re aiming for a more sophisticated version of that vibe. Still fun, still warm, yet lofty and chic.
I envision a modern office with clean lines and calming colors, layered with subtle personal touches that reflect who I am. Combining soft neutrals with hints of pink, cozy textures, and thoughtful details will instantly make your space feel welcoming. A few carefully chosen decorative pieces, like framed art, stylish desk accessories, or a classy nod to my love of Disney, can add personality without looking cluttered or overwhelming.
Lighting will also be important. Whether it’s natural light from a window or a warm desk lamp that adds a cozy glow, you want your space to feel bright and peaceful. Fresh flowers and greenery are also essential, adding life to a room and instantly softening the space.
Ultimately, my goal is to create an office that is professional yet personal, sophisticated yet comfortable. A space that reflects growth, positivity, and a sense of calm is the perfect backdrop for new beginnings, both for myself and the people I help every day.
