Let’s be real… leaving the house with your kids doesn’t just mean “grabing the key.” It’s a full-fledged production. And I’m not completely cracking the code (as there’s no mix of toddlers and time management).
These three tips really make things easier in our homes and they may also help yours.
Pack your baby bag the night before
I know, I know. You’re tired. me too. But all the differences can be made when you prepare clothes, stuff snacks, or hide essentials 10 minutes after bedtime. I also dressed in my room (one for a 6 year old, one for a toddler) and put my bags by the door.
Give me something I look forward to
Be honest…just because you’re in a hurry, your kids won’t move faster. But giving them something to get excited can speed things up. for example:
“After getting in the car, you can choose which songs to play.”
“Once you’ve buckled, get some snacks!”
Create a “Grab and Go” station by the door
This was a game changer. I set up a small basket near the door with essentials such as socks, hair tie, wipes, snacks, sunscreen and more. That way, I’m not going back upstairs, digging drawers, or digging drawers while my baby is in the car seat halfway through.
Hope these tips help you get out the door without a meltdown (from them or you)?
