At first, Erica (above, left) only tried on white dresses for her wedding. “I tried on every outfit in the world and ran out of options, so I opened myself up to color,” she said. She and her fiancé Rachel will both wear fuchsia on their big day. Here, three couples share their matching looks…
Erica + Rachel

Erica (left) and Rachel at City Hall.
Erica: We had planned to get married in August 2026 in the lake town where Rachel grew up, but felt it was important to stay on track after the 2024 presidential election and before the inauguration in January 2025. There were two months left.
rachel: Although non-traditional, a colorful wedding outfit felt natural to me. I wanted to wear a suit and I’ve always loved the fluorescent color palette. With a tight schedule, the question was what options were available. I knew J. Crew would help me find something that would fit me and make me feel good.

Erica:When I decided to move away from white dresses, Instagram’s algorithm offered me a pink Banana Republic dress and it clicked.

rachel: At first, I was worried that it would look too good on you. But Erica has a vision and is almost always right about her aesthetic choices.
Erica: solange’s wedding Ever since I saw the photo in 2014, it has been etched in my mind. I love that she and her husband are both wearing white and it looks so sleek and unified. Matching is something that is rarely possible outside of this experience, so it felt special.
andrew + de

Andrew (left) and Day when they see each other for the first time.
andrew: From the beginning, we liked the idea of wearing similar clothes to emphasize that we are united in marriage. I found a great tailor in LA — Jerry at JB Closures. He custom made our shirts and added details like our initials. They matched well, but there was a slight difference in their appearance, and I really liked that they were wearing different shoes.

de: We landed on a white tuxedo with black trim. I didn’t want it to look traditional, but I also didn’t want it to look too trendy, so the white tuxedo was the perfect in-between feel. Our wedding party also wore black.

de: I think a lot of straight weddings focus on the bride’s appearance, but we don’t. We not only wanted to see each other shine, but we also wanted to see us shine together as a unit. I hate when friends combine names like Bennifer, but it really became a DaeDrew moment.
katie + mike

katie:I’ve been married before and worn traditional dresses, but neither that marriage nor the dress felt quite as “me” this time as I had hoped.

microphone: I was thinking about florals, a sophisticated look that combines blue and winter white. this coat It turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.
katie: Mike settled on that jacket, and I found it while I was still looking for ideas matching corset. That’s what sums it up.

microphone: After matching, I remembered the feeling of two people being together.
katie: And it brought a sense of gender equality to this occasion, which is really important to us.
Congratulations to all the lovely couples!
PS Do you wear short wedding dresses? And how did you make your wedding feel like you?
