Every time I head to the cafe, I always look forward to ordering when I walk my arms and complain with friends. It’s flat white. It’s very tasty!
But not everyone loves my coffee request. When I was in Paris a few years ago, I stopped by a small cafe in Murray and asked for an Americano with milk. “No,” replied the barista. I was waiting for the beat, but when she didn’t explain her thoughts, I thought she might not have the rate set for that particular request. “Yeah, I’m happy to pay for the latte. “No,” she repeated firmly. “Our coffee burns out when you make it, so I don’t do it.”
Honestly, I loved her passionate take. In the end, she knew her coffee best, so I asked what she would recommend, and she brewed two shots of espresso and executed beautifully.
The New York store owner does this too. “You can’t put Parmesan cheese on shrimp pasta,” or “The chef isn’t making steak well” or “You don’t toast the bagels, they’re already warm.” I love someone who cares so much about my craft, so he or she will step in hard.
Now I’m interested, please tell me: What is your coffee order? Are there any recommendations? I’m relatively new to coffee yet (I’ve only started drinking it during the pandemic), so I’m always keen on tips. xoxo
Update: Many readers comment that they drink black coffee. Brooklyn Nine Nine Scene The place where Jake and Charles hide as Long Shoremen. Jake, trying to be tough, order, “Coffee – extra black, no extra sugar”
