I adored this film at their age, so I was excited to show the film to my own boys, age 12 and 15. “I love the news and take it very seriously,” he wrote. New Yorker’s Hannah Goldfield, younger than me, also watched films repeatedly throughout her childhood. “The characters are funny and complicated, and the cast is an all-star.” But do you know why I remember it the most, except for dance and singing, punches and kisses? It was my best friend’s sexual awakening. She believes in the film for beating Hook, Line and Sinker for Christian Bale, then talking non-stop about him for the next year, kickstarting her romantic aspirations.
