Spring is the season of renewal. A chance for a new start. As you walk outside on the first warm, sunny day of the year, you may feel like you’ve all breathed a collective sigh of relief when you see your neighbors. The cold of winter is over and spring invites us to brighten up, especially in our homes. It’s time to put away the chunky knits and faux fur and embrace gingham tablecloths and pastel-hued cushions. Spring has finally arrived and we are ready to refresh.

7 Spring Interior Trends for the Ultimate Refresh

We spoke to several interior designers to find out what spring interior trends they’re eyeing and loving this season. A dreamy combination of soft colors, on-trend patterns, cozy textures, and a little bit of the unexpected. Learn how to give your home a fresh start with this season’s latest interior trends.

One of the biggest decorating trends this year is playing with patterns. Gingham and stripes are everywhere this spring, and Elizabeth Vergara… Vergara Homes I’m happy to be on the trend. “We’re seeing gingham and stripes come back in a big way this spring,” she says. “I incorporate these patterns into my home through table runners, pillowcases, throws, etc. I try to keep them varied little by little throughout the home so that they can be easily replaced as seasons change or trends pass.”

The best thing about patterns is that they work in any room. If you’re giving your living room a spring refresh, try adding some gingham pillows to your sofa. Would you like to refresh your bedroom? Add a new set of striped sheets to the bed. Hosting a spring dinner party? Incorporate gingham into your tablescape with patterned napkins and tablecloths.

Spring flowers aren’t necessarily groundbreaking, but no season is complete without them. “Incorporating seasonal flowers like tulips, daffodils, and flowering branches in soft pastels or bright, cheerful tones can instantly brighten your home and make it feel fresh,” says founder Ashley Gallion. Ashley Ayers Interiors,KK. “You can easily incorporate playful spring accents with small accessories like pillows and vases.”

Decorate generously with fresh or artificial flowers. Now is the time to place a vase full of blooming flowers at the center of your coffee table, dining table, kitchen island, and mantle all at once.

replace pillows and throws

Of course, a spring home refresh does not require a full-scale renovation. Swapping out accents like pillows and throws is a great way to welcome the season. “One super easy change for spring is to swap out heavy winter blankets for lighter, spring-inspired blankets in cute floral patterns or light, bright plaids,” says interior designer and owner Laura Medicus. Lola medicus interiorThat’s what I say. Want to add some fun patterns to your space? Here’s how. “Get on the gingham trend with a soft-colored gingham pillow or two!” continues Medicus.

Update art and photos

When refreshing your home in the spring, it’s not just the look of your home that’s important, but also the atmosphere of your home. Outdated art and photos can add to the atmosphere, so take the time to review what you have on display. “One easy way to refresh your home for spring is to update your framed photos and art for the season,” says interior designer Erin Green. erin green designsmemo.

Look at your walls and see if there are any frames that need updating or art that needs updating. In general, dark and moody art is suitable for winter, and soft and light art is suitable for spring. Please choose photos and art that give you a spring feel. To get the most bang for your buck, Greene recommends digital frames. “I especially like this HD framed canvas from Frameology because it’s a great way to make your digital art look more gorgeous,” she says. “You can frame art that captures the spirit of spring, and as fall approaches, you can replace that art with something that represents fall instead.”

Add a pop of color

Owner and Principal Sarah Gosling and Design Director Rebecca Gosling gosling groupWe know a thing or two about spring color trends. “For spring, we love pops of color like citrus and spicy orange, whether it’s painting an entire room with a fresh coat of paint or adding an unexpected moment to the ceiling,” they share. “Our advice for ceilings is to experiment with dramatic bold contrasts in small spaces. If you’re not ready to commit completely to walls yet, ceilings are a great way to experiment with color.”

Even if you’re not ready to pick up a paintbrush this season, adding pops of color through accents and décor is a great way to sprinkle some fresh energy into your space. “Other color ideas we’re having fun with are creamy apricot, asparagus green, purplish bubblegum pink, frosty translucent blue, and high lacquer scarlet,” they continue.

Incorporate vintage items

“Another way to refresh a space is to incorporate fun vintage items,” says Gosling. “We always love sourcing unique finds from estate sales and local artisans. Other details like fringe, raw materials, and handmade items are also in the spotlight.”

Good design takes time to achieve, but well-worn, well-worn pieces that have a story are becoming more and more popular. This year’s interior trend is less about carefully selecting a home that looks like it’s in a showroom, and more about carefully selecting your favorite spaces, regardless of trends. Spring is an ideal time to redecorate your rooms, introduce new pieces, and experiment with design styles. Buying secondhand is a great way to create a space that feels like it was put together over time, rather than all at once.

revitalize your outdoor space

Spring brings us back to life outside. Ready to bring your deck, patio, porch, or backyard back to life. “In spring, we realize how heavy everything started to feel over the winter, so we try to lighten it up by removing some layers, bringing in more airy materials, and making our outdoor spaces usable again,” says lead designer Barrett Oswald. barrett oswald designsThat’s what I say.

When refreshing your outdoor space, Oswald recommends adding new outdoor pillows, updating greenery, and checking out lantern lights. “A few small changes can have a big impact,” she says.
