After five years of publishing linen planners at Target, I knew I was going to be a bound planner for the rest of my life. As it turns out, that’s not the case.
When we couldn’t create a physical 2026 version (tariffs, leadership changes, the usual suspects); We created a digital printable planner for our longtime users. What I discovered: This format works well for my actual planning.
I don’t fill out my planner consistently. Never. Some weeks you may need to block out detailed time. Other weeks, you’ll want one simple list. The printable planner format allows you to use your planner any way you want without the guilt of looking back at a blank page. When planning gets boring, you can print a new weekly sheet. Frequently.
This is a low-risk, functional plan. There’s no pressure to write well or to start the year “right.” Only the pages you need, when you need them.

Resourceful Printable Planner: What You Get
The same design our readers have been using since 2020 is now undated, printable, and with a few new additions.
- Monthly overview and goal setting page
- weekly plan spread
- Daily page with task list, priorities and time limits (new addition!)
- Meal Planning and Grocery Pages (New!)
- Brain dump memo page

How to use a printable planner for monthly, weekly, and daily organization
At the beginning of every month, I print out monthly summaries and plan out what’s really going on, including deadlines, moves, and the rhythm of the coming weeks. Here I set intentions, not goals. You need to look at the entire month before planning each part.
This is a low-risk, functional plan. There’s no pressure to write well or to start the year “right.” Only the pages you need, when you need them.
For weekly planning, Print what you need based on next week. During busy weeks with lots of moving parts, you’ll see the entire weekly spread and daily pages. A light week might just be a weekly summary and notes page. I stopped trying to maintain one perfect system. These sheets adapt to my life, not the other way around.
Our linen planner has been working at Target since 2020 but was unable to work this year. Production costs, changing retail priorities, all of that. I I wanted to make something for someone to use every year and I’m really glad this printable planner is where I ended up. It better suits my way of working and may apply to you as well.
