How to make it

Place it on a hurricane glass on fresh ice.

Garnish with slices or pineapple or maraschino cherry.

Tips for making

  • This recipe is flexible and can be mixed with just one type of rum, different rum, or different juices. For best results, choose fresh juice.
  • Flavor Variations: Add nutmeg or allspice sprinkles to the top to enhance your tropical flavor, try the bitterness of Angostura to add depth to your recipe, and swap coconut rum (or any kind of flavored rum) for coconut flavour.
  • Garnish Idea: In addition to the pineapple and maraschino cherry options we used, you can also use orange slices, lemon wedges or slices of lime as a garnish.
  • For sparkling variations, try adding splash or lemon lime soda, club soda, or ginger ale to the top of your completed cocktail.
  • What is the best rum? This recipe is flexible and generous. There’s no need to use high-end rum, so the best rum for this recipe is something you have on hand or a mid-price option.
  • If you want to add some sweetness, try a simple homemade syrup.
