We’ve been having some interesting weather in Los Angeles this summer (a hurricane and an earthquake on the same day, followed by drizzle and the pinkest rainbow-filled skies I’ve ever seen!!). As we enter September, we’re seeing signs of change – the leaves are changing from cool tones to warmer shades of red, orange and pink. As this is a time when Mother Nature is showing us her diversity, it seems like the perfect time to give you an update. Opalhouse designed in collaboration with Jungalow The collection has arrived!
The collection was inspired by the changing of the seasons, incorporating symbols of the winds of change, such as the windmill motif that appears on several pieces. throw and Decorative Pillows. As the nights wind and temperature drop, they’re a gentle reminder that fall is on the way. I don’t know about you, but I find myself spending more time indoors in the fall. I think this speaks to the connection between humans and nature, and how even in modern society we connect with the earth through the seasons and need more rest when it’s cold and dark outside in the fall (and winter). I love the idea of balancing what’s happening outdoors with the warmth, coziness, and jewel-toned interiors.
For me, fall is also a season of gathering: connecting with loved ones, inviting others over for meals, and sharing in the abundance and slow pace of the season. To me, open hands are a symbol of all of this (and this is Open hand-shaped trinket plate (Only $15!) I wanted to incorporate an open hand as a design element that represents sharing and reaching out, and I’m excited to bring it to life in the coming weeks. An open hand is also a welcoming sight to any space.
