Photographer Nikki Sebastian doesn’t wear much makeup, but exclude She has been wearing her cat eyeliner every day for 30 years, ever since she was in the 8th grade. “I’ve worn it for every occasion you can think of, including marathons and snorkeling,” she says. “When I had leukemia, I wore it to every chemo treatment.” Nicki’s look is super easy to pull off, even for those of us (all of us?) who lack the fine motor skills normally required for eyeliner. Here are her easy steps…

“First, get a twist upliner. This is the drugstore I frequent.” revlon color stay eyeliner in black brown. I’ve been using it for years because it’s cheap and easy. But my current favorite is SOSHE Beauty Precision. One of the thinnest liners available, at just 0.5 millimeters thick, it offers great detail and control. I’m wearing Deep Plum and I get so many compliments on the subtle color. ”

“Start in the center of the eyelid, directly above the pupil. Using very light pressure, make small strokes along the lash line. This is key. Do not draw one continuous line. press put the pencil on the lid. Doing so will almost certainly lead you off track. Continue using small strokes until it passes the corner of your eye. Then go back to the middle and fill in the gaps. more Then go in the opposite direction and extend the line to the inside corner with the same small strokes. That’s a foolproof method.
“For a cat eye in the corner, make mini strokes with a very light touch, tilting your hand slightly so that the line curves into little wings. This is meant to mirror the curve of your lashes. Start with the thinnest line possible, and if you want it thicker, try again, adding small strokes of liner. If you fail, use a makeup wipe to remove the last stroke and try again.”

“This is the only other makeup I wear. tower 28 mascara — it will thicken, but never curdle — and finish it off. hourglass eyebrow pencil and KS&CO brow gel. I obsessed With this gel it makes them look So It’s much more fulfilling. What I use to wash everything off is: vani cream face wash”

“My 13-year-old daughter is playing Snow White right now and I’m doing her cat eye. She even asks me to do her cat eye at school dances. It melts my heart. I don’t even consider eyeliner.” need — It’s not something I need to feel worthy of — but I enjoy adding a little panache. Even after losing my eyelashes and eyebrows during chemotherapy, I still wear my cat eye every day. By doing so, you can be yourself. ”
