Water is life. And with the thickness of Texas summer, I feel the truth more deeply than ever. When the heat is fully enhanced, I remember that hydration isn’t just about drinking water (yes, I’m not far from my tumbler). It is about creating daily rituals that allow you to feel the cooling, nourishment, and nature from within, shining from the inside out.

From what I eat to taking care of my skin and hair, hydration touches on every part of my routine these days. And thanks to my weekly target run (partner in this post), keeping your time refreshing throughout the summer is something that can be easily achieved. First, I share my go-to hydration ritual and the staple foods I depend on in a pleasant season.

Hydrate from the inside: My Summer Water Upgrade

Of course, drinking more water is not negotiable at this time of year, but it’s not just about drinking more. Drinking Smarter It’s the goal. Plain water is always a victory, but I keep the electrolyte packet stash on hand to replenish minerals lost from sweat and help support energy levels.

Also, do not underestimate the OG practices of injected spa water. Drinking is very fun, but it goes without saying that it is beautiful. Some of my favorite pairings:

  • Lemon + Cucumber + Mint: Lemon helps to wash away toxins, cucumbers are ultra-permeable and anti-inflammatory, and mint soothes the stomach. This trio is ideal after a sweaty workout or a long day in the sun.
  • Raspberry + Mint: Raspberries are loaded with antioxidants that support healthy skin and fight free radicals, while Mint adds refreshing Zing to help digest.
  • Orange + Basil: Oranges add vitamin C and natural sweetness, while basil has anti-inflammatory properties and helps relieve stress. This is a bit fanciful and perfect for serving with a brunch pitcher.

I refill from all fresh berries, vegetables and herbs It’s good to be a target And lead my elixir every day into my mood.

Target Hydration Essential Avocado

Cooled Spa Salad = Instant Refresh

What is another way to make your body hydrated? Eat your water (yes, you listen to me.) What I mean: Many fruits and vegetables are naturally rich in water, so incorporating them into your diet is an easy way to increase your hydration, especially when the weather is burnt and you crave something light and fresh.

One of my favorites for the summer is this grapefruit and avocado salad. The perfect mix, juicy, creamy and crunchy. Ingredients such as grapefruit, cucumber and romaine are packed with water and electrolytes, but avocados add healthy fats to help trap water from within. Add a golden dressing, a pinch of flake-like salt, and some chopped mint or basil. It is basically a spa treatment in the form of a salad, adding satisfaction to the crispy chickpeas. Better yet, everything you need in this recipe is ready to go Good & gather.

Skin Quencher: My 3-Stage Hydration Routine

In the summer everything, including my skincare is simplified. During the sunlight, heat, sweat and extra hours outdoors, my skin is more reactive and easily crowded. That’s why we replace heavier creams for a light, breathable layer that soothes the skin without clogging pores. I layered them from the lightest to the thickest so that each one was properly absorbed and could do the job. Refresh your skin without being overwhelmed.

Here is my absolute 3-step routine:

  • Start with a moist fog. I love spritzing rose water or thermal spring mist straight out of the fridge. Not only will it make you feel amazing, but it will also give your skin a quick drink to replenish and prepare you to better absorb whatever comes next.
  • Continue with hyaluronic acid serum. This is my summer skincare MVP. Hyaluronic acid helps to bind water to the skin, plump and smooth without feeling sticky or heavy. I’ve loved it This hyaluronic serum From the Korean skincare brand Torriden, it visibly plumps the skin and nourishes it all day long.
  • Apply gel-based moisturizer or hydrating SPF. Finished with a lightweight gel moisturizer, it really locks its hydration and helps prevent UV damage along with SPF. Look for formulas that use aloe, squarane or ceramide for that supple skin finish.
  • Bonus: Handle your lips with large amounts of moisture. Nothing feels more spoiled than a lip mask. This one From VERSED. It’s butter, but not sticky. I smooth it out before bed and wake up with my baby’s soft lips.

Hair recovery after pool day

As much as I love pool days, my hair often requires TLC. Over time, chlorine can strip off moisture and natural oils, and my chains feel dry, brittle and more fragile. As I am diligent and diligent about water intake and skincare, I have also built a simple hair recovery routine that brings the summer lock back to life.

My post-swim rituals include:

  • Clarification shampoo: I start with a gentle wash clean to remove chlorine, sunscreen residue, and product buildup without excessive stripping. This resets my scalp and makes everything feel very clean.
  • Moisturizing mask: Next, apply a rich and moisturized hair mask using ingredients such as coconut oil, shea butter, and aloe to recover from moisture and smooth frizz. Leave it for 5-10 minutes while you’re finished the shower.
  • Wide Tooth Comb: I use a wide tooth comb in the shower and gently disassemble it (starting at the edges) slowly. This helps minimize breakage and distribute the mask evenly.

I also love sleeping with silk silk and satin pillowcases. These reduce friction, retain moisture and prevent scary overnight tangles.
