Frappes are blended or whipped coffee drinks that can contain a variety of flavors, often served with whipped cream. They are popular all over the world, but here in the US, when I hear Mocha Frappe, I’m thinking about the version of McDonald’s.
And while this is essentially a homemade version of it, I like being able to customize a little more to my taste.
What I like about this Mocha Frappe recipe is its very easy and quick creation. It’s refreshing, but also feels like a treat, with only four ingredients and whipped cream on top.

- Granuting White Sugar – or another sweetener, like a simple syrup
- Milk – I like whole milk, but you can use oat milk or any kind of thing you like

How to make Mocha Frappe
Freeze the espresso shot into ice cubes. my Espresso machine Create 3-4 ice cubes for each shot. And I usually use 6-8 frozen espresso cubes (2 shots) per meal.
If you don’t want to use espresso, you can also freeze some very strong coffee.

Drizzle a little chocolate syrup into a glass and pour in a mocha frappe. Top with whipped cream.

- If you have forgotten your espresso/coffee first or don’t want to freeze the coffee, chill it after brewing (pop it in the fridge for a few minutes). Next, follow the recipe. However, add 6-8 ice cubes per serving. Yes, this will dilute your Mocha Frappe coffee, but it is consistent with similar textures and will still be tasty.
- If you like your mocha frappe more sweet and flavorful on the coffee side, omit sugar in this recipe. Sometimes the only sweetener I add is chocolate syrup, which I think is great.
- You can easily change the flavor of this frappe. White chocolate or caramel.
- If this dairy-free product, you can easily use it simply by using dairy-free milk and whipped cream.
