Don’t you like when a wedding introduces a couple’s daily life? Below, we share how three couples made their wedding feel personal to themselves…
Felina + Billy
London

Ferina: “The pressure around a wedding is real. Every day you’re struck by inspiration from social media, Pinterest and TV shows. Humanist Celebrant It was one of the best decisions we made. It meant that the ceremony would be tailored to us and completely free from the religious implications. ”

“We also wanted to weave in a cultural touch that felt deeply and personally for us. A lovely tradition was to put confetti on a red envelope. In Singapore’s Chinese culture, family and friends give the couple a red envelope on their wedding day and wish them good luck.”

“My uncle kicked off Yam’s Sengen toast. This was truly overwhelming in the best possible way! “Yam Sen” is a traditional Chinese wedding toast that is repeated three times by the group, often repeated with each word – “Yam” (drink) and “Seng” (success).

“It was incredibly incredible to hear the words echoing through the room, as many of our loved ones screamed over and over. We felt like everyone’s joy and blessings were physically filling the space around us.”
Ily +Derek
Oakland, California

Eilee: “We had a wedding Satro Heights ParkOverlooking the Pacific Ocean Satrobus. When we got caught Sunset Reservoir Brewing Company For reception we noticed that there was a bike sharing station right next to both locations. Derek raised the idea that several of us were riding three miles between the two spots. ”

“We talked to our guests in advance. No one was shocked given our enthusiasm for the bike. We were on the bike for our first date – and 20 people got on the ride with us.”

“My wedding outfit was two pieces. After the ceremony, I changed from my skirt to white pants for the ride and then went back to the brewery skirt.

“The ride itself was full of joy. The cars rang out and people went down the big highway. Such a thing peace of mind. There is a lot of adrenaline and emotions around the ceremony, so doing what you find so familiar and fun right afterwards was a great way to release your energy and redecorate yourself before the reception. ”
Mia + Artur
Portland, Oregon

Mia: “We met at the art school in Minneapolis. Our wedding was a decent opportunity to show our family the jobs we love to create. We designed invitations and wedding ‘branding’ for no better terminology. venue Not only will it shine, it will be our own. ”

“A few months before our wedding, Arthur set out on a work trip. I had a spare gallon of orange paint around our house and painted everything in the orange colour of our interior door. It grew a little bigger.

“We don’t have a wall big enough to display an orange background in our house, so it’s folded up for now. One day we have a perfect wall. We loved the background, but we focused on Artur at the edge of the aisle.
How do you (or have you) make your wedding feel faithful to you and your partner? Maybe food, music, or what you were wearing? xo
