Like clockwork, a sense of nostalgia hits me. Winter is here and the season of introspection begins. Am I investing my energy in the right places? Are my habits increasing my daily joy? Am I nourishing my body with kindness and compassion? From pen to paper, I race against my train of thought. On this dark, quiet morning, with a cup of hot coffee in hand and my boys asleep, I welcome this inward shift.

For many of us, this time of year brings similar vibrations. We are being asked to take an honest look at how we nurture our bodies, minds, and spirits. Naturally, the cold season forces us to recalibrate, harvest experiences, collect our thoughts, and cultivate simple nourishment.

6 ways to live a nourished life this winter

But in the busyness of the holiday season, self-care can often take a back seat. Here are some of my favorite (practical!) ways to live and feed a nourishing lifestyle with winter health in mind.

1. Incorporate seasonal ingredients for sustainable energy

For sustained energy, winter is the perfect time to consume seasonal foods. For example, sweet potatoes are a natural underground energy store. There is room on the table for both sweets and seasonal pumpkins, but prioritizing nutritious food is an act of gratitude for your body. and Earth.
