Recently I started my morning routine with a bowl of plain Greek yogurt topped with berries, bananas, granola and honey drizzle. It’s a flavor combo that never gets old for me, and thankfully it packs a protein punch that will cheer me up until the morning. (Hot Tip: Pop this mixture into the freezer for 30 minutes and you’re basically eating it for breakfast.

I recently hosted several brunch gatherings and I decided to take my favorite breakfast and turn it into this slightly refined berry and yogurt parfait. When provided in Beautiful glassI feel like the layer of creamy yogurt, juicy fruit and crispy granola is high, but it only takes a few minutes to assemble. Thanks to healthy ingredients, this breakfast provides a great powerhouse of nutrients that contain the proteins I need to start my day harder.

Nutritional ways to welcome busy mornings

Let’s face it, the morning can be chaotic and berry and yogurt parfaits are the perfect way to set yourself up for success. You can also prepare these with a mason jar the night before, so you’re ready to grab them in front of work or the gym.

These are packed with protein, full of gut-friendly probiotics that keep you full, fill with fresh berry vitamins, and support digestion. The best part? They are very customizable so even my noisy kids can switch the taste of the fruit based on what they crave.

The best yogurt for parfaits: what to look for

  • High protein – Greek or Icelandic yogurt (SKYR) is the perfect choice for sustained energy.
  • Minimal sugar – Look for plain or lightly sweetened yogurt to avoid hidden sugar.
  • Probiotic Rich – Living culture supports gut health and digestion.
  • Dairy-free alternatives – Coconut, almonds, cashews, oats, or soy yogurt is perfect for those who avoid dairy products.
  • Creamy texture – Find the full fat version for the best mouthfeel and nutrient absorption.

Protein booster takes it to the next level

If you are on a train with 30 grams of protein at breakfast, there are a few ways to add it moreover Protein to already protein-rich Greek yogurt:

  • Nut Butter – Drizzle of almond or peanut butter adds healthy fats and protein
  • Hemp seeds or chia seeds – A spoonful of dishes will provide plant-based protein and omega-3s.
  • Protein powder – Mix in a vanilla scoop or flavorless protein to boost it further.
  • Cottage cheese – Mix in yogurt to get extra protein and creaminess.
