Megan describes what it’s really like to be a teacher: “As a high school English teacher for over 20 years, I wanted to share my favorite piece of wisdom that I received from a teacher friend: Be the person you needed to be when you were their age.” I’ve tried that with my students, and it’s also a great way to empathize with your past self who needed so much but didn’t know how to ask for it.
HW says this about your work: It’s so encouraging to read about all the great work you’re doing. I would like to respond to each of you individually by saying, “That’s amazing!” Good for you! ‘So if you need it today, I think you’re doing a great job, and you seem to be good at it! I also think that many of us in the CoJ community, despite the challenges, We are also noticing a trend of people working in the support field and finding great satisfaction in it. Go team! ”
Anon said: “For every cool job I list here (actually, they’re all cool jobs!), there are probably five people who didn’t comment because their job wasn’t cool or they didn’t like it. You don’t have to love your job! It doesn’t define you! I’m a school administrator who works in the nutrition department, and I know my job is meaningful. But it’s not a dream job for me and I often get bored and frustrated.
