Confession: I still jump scare myself as I walk past the mirror wearing a red light mask. But I have learned to make rituals romantic. And I have a whimsical pleasure in the stupidity of wearing my advanced red light mask when doing my nighttime routine. Why do you endure the small inconvenience of wearing a mask? The results cannot be denied. It appears to fade my pigmentation from the acne of the zapping hormone, giving it a vibrant glow overall. Unusual– Red Light acquired that position in my routine.

Now, as our favorite skincare ingredients and routines get body care makeovers, full body red light therapy has finally become mainstream. From saunas to wellness centre red light panels to high-tech spas, full-body red light therapy is in demand. Thankfully, the new suite of home devices makes using this targeted treatment more accessible for pain relief, scar healing and whole body glow. To learn more, I spoke to an expert on how to make the most of your full body red light therapy in your routine.

What does whole body red light therapy do?

Lauren Berlinrico-founders and co-CEOs HigherDoseexplains, “The red light activates your cells and helps them function at their best.”

If your high school student’s biology is a bit rusty, here’s a review: mitochondria – yes, “the cell power” is what red light therapy activates. This jump start will begin cell repair and regeneration. This means producing more collagen.

“This increased energy improves circulation, reduces inflammation, supports lymph detoxification, and reverses muscle recovery and tissue healing,” adds Berlinri.

Different wavelengths offer different advantages:

  • Red light (630-650nm): It activates skin cells, promotes collagen production and circulation, and promotes radioactive, even concentrated skin.
  • Red light (810-850nm): It targets deeper layers to help repair muscles and reduce inflammation.

Benefits of whole body red light therapy

Double board certified dermatologist Dr. Morayo Adisa, MDRed light therapy is a mild, non-invasive treatment and is suitable for all skin types with little or no downtime throughout the year.

So, what can Full Body Red Light Therapy do for you? Dr. Adisa says benefits include reducing inflammation, treating acne and breakouts, faster wound healing, stimulating hair growth, improving the appearance of thin lines, wrinkles and loose skin.

Dr. Adisa recommends choosing “a red light device created for what you want to deal with” to make the most of your money.

How to incorporate full body red light therapy into your routine

Red Light Therapy is a long game. Although results will not be displayed overnight, there are things you can do to increase the effectiveness of whole body red light therapy.

First of all, “Consistency is key! Doing 3-4x red lights a week is the gold standard for results after a month.”

She also recommends combining red light with “lymph drainage and microcurrents” for a complete detox treatment.

For example, a new, sophisticated microcurrent body sculptor said, “detoxifies lymphatic fluids, releases fascial tension, releases muscles with microcurrents, and ignites the skin that glows with red light.”

Best Full Body Red Light Devices

To optimize your red light routine, start by clarifying your goals. Are you dealing with pain? Are you trying to boost your scalp hair growth? Looking for a full body glow? Different devices provide different results.
