During the holidays, I could spend all day curled up on the couch watching reruns of Young Sheldon with the boys. But over the years, I’ve discovered that the secret to enjoying big family gatherings is to take a break by going for a walk, ideally while listening to an interesting podcast. Today, in partnership with lululemonfive women share how they keep their bodies moving on holiday…

Catch-up walk: Hiking with my mom and sister is the best part of every visit. We leave the men and kids at home and go out as much as we want, talk or just spend time together.
Clothes appropriate for winter weather: Although I occasionally hike in warmer places like Sedona, Arizona (above), I usually spend my days off in the suburbs of Chicago. None of us care about cold air. The Lululemon coat I used before lasted 10 years, but now… this raincoat.
Favorite Lululemon styles: i’ve been wearing these high rise leggings For years. The 25 inch inseam is the perfect length for a petite woman like me. and i love them fanny pack I even gave it to at least 5 people, including my mother and sister.

Activate your core training: While I’m running between relatives’ houses, parenting the dog alone, and checking my inbox, the gift I can give myself is 40 minutes with noise-cancelling headphones and a random core workout on Instagram.
Travel essentials: An idea that would have been unthinkable two years ago. I now have a friend asking if the hotel has a gym. They brought me a girl.
Lululemon’s classic styles: I’m obsessed This reversible sports braAnd I always reach for their comfort long sleeve t-shirt (I love the ribbed ones for layering when the temperatures drop).

Explore on foot: I’m an avid long-distance runner, and my favorite way to get to know a new place is to literally run in the middle.
Race with strangers: I love participating in destination road races. It’s the perfect blend of sightseeing, people-watching, and soaking in the boisterous collective joy that only comes when thousands of strangers suddenly become your personal cheerleaders. My most recent participation was the Monterey Bay Half Marathon.

Daily routine: I’m one of those people who doesn’t hear about the benefits of 10,000 steps a day. I’ve always been a walker, but between Christmas and New Years (when the sun sets and the sunlight feels non-existent) I can get really depressed. So every morning, rain, snow or shine, I start with a long walk.
Group exercise class: This winter I booked some hot yoga classes as a way to make time for myself. There’s something about moving in a warm, dark space (the womb?) that helps chase away the winter blues. I’m wearing it high rise shorts The one for hot yoga is black, but I didn’t know there were so many colors. Now I want them all. When walking in winter, these joggers In classic gray.
If your family is stuck indoors: My husband, kids and I will be hopping around the house and heading to Chapel Lawn. Repeating “Pink Pony Club” for 30 minutes is a surprisingly effective cardio workout.
