The Black Honey shade itself is really nice and I really like it. I decided to go for this one because it matched my natural lip color well, but it was a little too warm for my taste. Currently, Clinique produces three versions of the legendary Almost Lipstick: Pink Honey, Nude Honey, and Black Honey. But after a little research, I decided to skip them and go for a more moisturizing alternative, the Dior Addict Lip Glow. After reading the reviews online, I was convinced that it was nutritious and would take care of my lips.
Introducing Dior Addict Lip Glow, the perfect alternative to Clinique Black Honey and another legend that could be a duck to. Come take a closer look at its formula, shade, and texture with me to see if it really lives up to the hype.
Dior Lip Balm is the perfect combination of lip care and makeup.
About Dior Addict Lip Glow
Dior Lip Glow is a moisturizing lip balm that provides sheer coverage and texture with pH-activated tint. The brand promises that the formula reacts to your lips’ natural pH, resulting in a “custom color.” It also surprisingly claims to provide 48 hours of deep hydration, which is a near impossible task if you ask me. Still, this formula seems incredibly promising when you look at the ingredient list, which includes cherry seed oil and shea butter.
You can find it almost everywhere, including Dior’s official store, Sephora, and Amazon. It weighs 3.2 g (approximately 0.11 oz) and retails for $49. While this is a significant increase compared to Clinique’s Black Honey’s $25 price tag, the question remains. Are Dior formula’s superior hydration and chic packaging worth splurging on for the perfect berry pout?
Packaging:
Let’s start with the legendary packaging! Dior Addict Lip Glow comes in what can only be described as a “cool girl” lip balm tube. The heavy translucent soft pink case has a crystal finish that catches the light beautifully on your vanity.
The most noticeable detail is the signature silver “knob” or “stud” of the Dior Addict line on the base, embossed with the CD logo. The same logo is embossed on the lip balm itself, but it melts away when you first apply it. Pulling the silver sleeve out of the pink housing reveals the bullet inside a smooth, mirror-finished metal tube.
Texture and aroma:
The color I chose, 073 Blackberry, is described on Dior’s official website as a blackberry shade with a cool undertone. I went back and forth between 020 Mahogany and 073 Blackberry as they look very similar. Also, different people’s lip swatches looked pretty much the same. In the end, I settled on this cool-toned shade that is more suited to my color season.
If you’ve seen the video campaign featuring Anya Taylor-Joy, Willow Smith, and Jisoo, you might be surprised at how glossy and vibrant their lips look. In fact, the blackberry shade lacks that juicy, almost glassy shine. Instead, it provides a subtle, natural glow, or “wet” look that disappears in about 30 minutes to an hour after application.

How to use Dior Addict Lip Glow
Final verdict…
Hydration: 👍👍👍👎(7/10)
Texture: 👍👍👍👎(7/10)
Overall: 👍👍👍👎 (7/10)
To summarize this wealth of information in a short verdict: “Is Dior Addict Lip Glow good?” Yes, it’s the best balm for dry lips. Is it similar to Clinique Black Honey? Yes, it looks a lot like that shade and has a similar “almost there” feel to it.
But does it moisturize your lips more than regular balms? To be honest, no. If you’re not particularly chasing these iconic colors and are just looking for a tinted lip treatment, you can definitely find cheaper and more effective alternatives.
