In the heat of Texas, when you dress, you start to feel less about style and more about survival. I want to feel the put, but most days I simply try not to overheat. Everything structured feels choked, the layers are out the window, and the risk of sweat keeps even my favorite pieces from touching. Searching for breathable and interesting hot weather outfits has become a daily struggle.

How to wear a dress in the heat: 5 hot outfit tips from celebrity stylists

I'll pin it

1. ABC: Decorate basic clothing

Hot outfits don’t have to be complicated. In fact, it shouldn’t. Both stylists defend a stored back wardrobe simplified for the summer, but with outstanding accessories to enhance your look.

“It’s almost minimal to feel boring,” says Coco. “But that’s where the fun comes. There’s an oversized necklace, cool bags, statement earrings, sandals.” That’s where the outfit really gets its personality.

2. Use Flow

No one wants to feel like they’re contracting the heat. The loose silhouette, the more the cooler stays, the more refined the look. Think of a grooved skirt, a refreshing maxi dress, and wide-footed pants. “When there are millions of degrees outside, no one wants to be perfect for the skin,” says Coco.

3. I live in linen

Linen is an indisputable hero of hot climate costumes. Both stylists called it non-negotiable, and Emily vowed to her collection of linen drawstring pants in neutral tones and stripes.

At night, she chooses tailored rowinen pants with a halter top. Coco agrees, but emphasizes that not all linens are created equal. “We’ll continue through the season and focus on high quality linens that don’t get too wrinkled. We know that when you can’t get a crease, it’s not a good linen.”

4. Pony up

There’s nothing worse than having your hair cling to your neck. Emily’s solution? Shriutty – especially silk Bahay Kubo. “Whenever my hair gets up, it’s in Shriutty,” she says. “It’s perfect for either a smooth back or a messy bun.” It’s subtle details, but it brings both functionality and style to your look.

5. ITTY-BITTY bag

Even heavy wallets can feel heavy with a 90-degree heat. “I’m drawn to the smallest wallet in the summer,” says Emily. Her go-tos? Row’s 90s bag And mini Raffia top handle From the mango. Coco recommends adding personality here. A bright bag and playful texture add interest to even the most minimal look.
