Air fryer burgers are one of those meals that we make over and over again for dinner at our house. This recipe uses only 5 ingredients and takes less than 15 minutes to make. It’s so easy! Add a salad, vegetable side, or baked fries for a delicious homemade meal that the whole family will love.

Depending on what you have or how much fat/protein you want in your diet, you can use ground beef, ground turkey, ground chicken, or a combination of ground meats (such as the “Boston Burger”, which is usually beef and pork). I mostly use ground turkey at home, but please note that the nutritional information on the recipe card calls for ground turkey, as shown here in the photo.

This air fryer burger recipe is perfect for topping with homemade Big Mac sauce, Chick-fil-A sauce, BBQ sauce (my favorite!), or Buffalo sauce if you’re in the mood for something spicy.

material

  • ground beef – or another ground beef
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder
  • soy sauce
  • Worcestershire sauce

You’ll also need burger fixings like a bun, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and any other toppings and sauces of your choice.

How to make air fryer burgers

Combine or mash ground beef, onion powder, and garlic powder in a small to medium-sized mixing bowl. Form 4 patties from the mixture.

Combine soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl or glass. Once the patties are in the air fryer basket, brush both sides with this.

Air fry at 375°F (sometimes labeled “roast” on air fryers) for 10-12 minutes, flipping the patties halfway through cooking. When finished cooking, use a meat thermometer to check for doneness. Internal temperature should reach 160°F.

Toast the hamburger buns in the air fryer or in a dry skillet at the last moment of cooking. Top your burger with your favorite toppings.

Tips and notes

  • I don’t preheat the air fryer before making the burgers. However, if you do so, you may be able to shorten the cooking time by a minute or two.
  • You can also add parchment paper to your air fryer, but I don’t do that when making homemade burgers. If that’s the case, cut slits or holes in the paper so the hamburger fat can drip out. This is one of the benefits of an air fryer.
  • If you want to make a cheeseburger, add a slice or two of cheese on top of the burger during the last two minutes of cooking.
  • Like ovens, all air fryers can work a little differently, so I often need to cook my burgers for 12 minutes. If you want your burgers to be medium-to-medium done with a pinkish center, try this recipe for 9 to 10 minutes the first time you make it and see how it goes.
