Brooklyn VW Buggy Street

What’s on your fall checklist? The weather is getting colder, the fridge is full of apples, and I’m looking forward to a comforting movie. Here are seven more things to do while kicking back…

Joanna Cezane

1. Shop in stores. On the weekends, I Cezanne I went to Manhattan to check out the fall collection and it was really fun. The store was beautiful, with velvet fitting room curtains and friendly salespeople. I tried on a lot of everyday clothes. Patent leather bag (this is 4 colors), Extra-large trench (The lining is cute too!) leopard print shoes (I think it would look cute with jeans.) Afterwards, we had some coffee and walked home in the sunshine. It was a fun morning.

2. Go apple picking. My friend Allison brought her two kids. Fishkill Farm “We do this every year,” she said. “The farm has everything you need: apples, pears, flowers, and a tractor to go around the farm. At the end of the day, the kids are covered in mud and… So You’ll be happy. Bonus: The next morning, Apple Pancakes.

3. Find the best egg sandwich/banana bread/croissant/cookie/whatever. Last week I was texting with a friend who was going through a tough time. We brainstormed fun activities she could do to distract her and we decided to find the best chocolate chip cookies in Brooklyn. Is there a place you swear by? (So far, Lapartement 4F is leading the way.

4. View Bad Sisters Season 2The dark Irish comedy returns on November 13th. I love all the women in this fantastic series and can’t wait to see what my fake best friend Sharon Horgan will do in the next season.

5. Host a craft night. I am totally terrible at crafts. Make a Valentine’s Day Card Last year when I did some crafting with friends, I realized that I love making things with my hands, even if the results are poor. As the days get shorter and I spend more time indoors, I’m looking for easy projects I can do with my friends and my sons. These grape garlands Look what’s on the dinner table?

6. Take a walk while listening to a funny podcast. There’s something so satisfying about a walk in the fall, breathing in the crisp air and feeling the crunch of the leaves under your feet. If you feel like chatting, grab a five-minute phone call with a friend. If you feel like laughing out loud, Celebrity Book Club Episodes On French chef Jacques Pépin — it’s amazing.

7. Lie back on the couch and read a fascinating book. What are you reading? Two of my favorite authors, Elizabeth Strout and Sally Rooney, have novels coming out this fall. Strout’s Tell me everything (Available today!) in which her two beloved heroines, Lucy Barton and Olive Kitteridge, meet and become embroiled in a murder mystery. InterludeRooney’s “The Great Passage” tells the story of two brothers grieving the death of their father while also struggling with their own tumultuous (not surprisingly) romantic relationship. Meanwhile, Rumaan Alam’s next project is rightApparently, Inheritance Vibes out next week. Have you read his horrific 2020 novel? Leaving the world behindJust thinking about it makes me shudder.

What’s on your low-key fall checklist this year? Let me know!

P.S.: Fall fun and our favorite rabbit show.
