A Q&A With ‘The White Lotus’ Costume Designer

Are you watching White Lotus Season 3? We are excited to see the 90-minute finale appearing on Sunday. This week I was excited to talk Alex Bovardhoodie posies, boat shoes, lots of sweat, the gorgeous costume designer behind all three seasons…

Your career sounds like a dream! But of course, every job has its own difficult parts, and often it’s behind the scenes. What tricky things have you faced?
All the sweat. People are either sweating or not, and if you sweat, you are going to sweat a lot in Thailand. There was a ton of Walton Goggins playing Rick. We brought it Thompson Tea Let everyone sweat from America. We cut our heads off so that we could not see them under our clothes. The armpit material looks like a hygienic towel – it’s quite glossy!

What about Timratrif? He seems to be sweating like a personality.
Tim had dry bones. In fact, I had to apply sweat from my outfit.

My British grandfather always said that men sweat and women shine.
The woman had an ice pack. hoodie [Posey] There was one almost consecutive between her thighs.

Did you enjoy wearing Victoria Ratliff from the hoodie posey character, South Matriarch?
yes! We knew that she and Timothy would close her bags a lot for Lorazepam, so we had to find the perfect chic bag – Gucci’s The bamboo handle is old fashioned and very similar to everything. In a perfect world it looks more worn out, but I have to borrow bags from the brand and return them.

I love Piper’s dresses. She wears at least three Ciao Lucia. She’s a recent university graduate who might be loyal to her favorite brand, so was that a choice?
In fact, I found a collection that would typo the correct notes. Ciao Lucia’s dress is whimsical, and Piper is etheric – or at least she thinks it is. You can style the dress to make it sexy, but at the height of the piper, the length of the dress felt like it was arse.

How about the boys? Saxon is… that guy.
As a costume designer, you want to stereotype a bitso the audience can say, Oh, I know who this person is. Especially in the arrival episode, I raised it and made it bigger. My husband and I live in the south and there are brands I saw like the tides of the south. He also dressed up a Saxon with his brother Polo and Brooks. We wanted him to be cheap. He’s not like “dapad,” he’s just like a literal dad.

It’s hilarious.
But we don’t want to go too far. After the first episode, I don’t wear sunglasses. and Boat shoes, remove one element. We are not zoolander. We want to be a satire, not a comedy.

Honestly, Saxon really grew up to me. By the seventh episode, he seems almost sweet.
He has a journey so his fit is slightly cute. It was intentional. We were like that, Wow, you actually look handsome.

How about Belinda? I loved her pink kaftan with green leaves and fish.
Belinda loves good flow. She was not a White Lotus guest, so she wants to be as good as she can. She doesn’t want to be like a poor Belinda. She wants to be Cinderella.

The three female friends are always the same. How did you distinguish them?
At first, they’re all cool girls. But as the season progresses, you will find that Raleigh is more comfortable. When she goes out that day, she wears loose traveler pants along with a small backpack and a nerd hat. Kate is even more prissy. Jaclyn is an actress. She wants attention.

What examples reveal their characteristics through those outfits?
When they return after a big night, Laurie strips her clothes and jumps into the pool. Jaclyn comes out wearing an incredibly gorgeous leopard print suit. And Kate actually wears her pyjamas and gets more dressed.

Of all the characters, who do you like the most?
I’m an older Chelsea. I’m British, she’s British. There is the eccentric throwing squeal that Britt occasionally has. For her character, we made an indirect shopping and cut off her dresses to shorten them.

Have people made any comments about the clothes that surprised you?
I sometimes take cheeky peeps online when I’m in Lou, but most of them are away from social media. There are many small clues in the costume design, but no one has noticed it yet. Maybe I’ll leak them after the finale.

If you have a magic wand, which location would you choose for the fourth season of White Lotus?
Swiss Alps. I don’t mind taking people from bikini to coats. European royals could be placed on sweaters, furs and earmuffs. We were able to have a truly meaningful Epulasky vibe.
