Kate’s fourth book — how about now — The film, released today, explores friendship, marriage, parenting, and aging, all mixed with existential horror. I know it’s a bold statement, but it might be my favorite of her books so far.

“I’m an open book,” Kate told me (as evidenced by the fact that she has a poem called “In Pelvic Floor Therapy”). “Whenever I tell the truth, I always hear, “Me too.”

The audience was excited and asked some very good questions.
