The cozy season finally appeared for us, and I couldn’t be more excited for one. Fall is my favorite season, but to be honest, the cooking towels with bright orange pumpkins, fake autumn leaves and jack-o-lanterns on them are really not about me. I prefer to enhance the aesthetics of autumn homes a little more and more cozy. I live in a patch of pumpkins and it appears that the season has changed so that my home feels authentic to my personal style.

Buying decorations that scream autumn may be attractive, but there are ways to keep your space elegant and reserved while reflecting the seasons. Below are some ways to add home decoration to your space, rather than becoming a complete pumpkin.

Cozy autumn coffee table

The scent of autumn

On the first day we light up the autumn candles of our home. It always feels like an event. There’s nothing like the smell of cinnamon and cloves! The summer scent is light and coastal, but the autumn scent is warm and spicy, and swaps really feel like one of the best ways to welcome the season. I have candles in our front door, so anyone entering our home is greeted with a pleasant scent. I also love storing my reed diffuser in the bathroom and replace it with seasonal fragrances. Candles are also offered on a stunning boat, and will definitely double as a decor in autumn homes.

Deeper color palette

Fallen home decorations tend to make you feel a little more uncomfortable than your counterpart in warm weather. Spring and summer are filled with bright colors and refreshing colors and textures, and an easy way to shift to the season is to swap for deeper colors. Choose a cozy neutral palette with brown, cream and (of course) deep orange. Or, if you prefer a little more colour, try the tone of the gem. Emerald green, ruby red and mustard look beautiful at this time of year!

Cozy texture

If your summer home is to stay cool, then help your autumn home become cozy. Layer textures are the key to keeping your room balanced and warm at all times. Heavy materials such as faux fur, velvet, knits and flannel make the perfect autumn home decoration. Change the pillows to a sofa, drape a heavy throw blanket over the most cozy chair, and reach for warm bedding. I love my Laura blanket. It is the softest blanket we own and moves you to the room. It’s so cozy!

Nature-inspired decoration

Nature has many beauty, especially as the seasons change. Bringing outside helps us to match the rhythm of the seasons with the house and maintain our ground and joy. Fresh flowers on the table always reassure me, and the same applies to the leaves of the branches and leaves. Even a bowl of fruit acts like a home decor, and forged discoveries like acorns and pine cones on a coffee table plate can add a homely touch to the celebration.

Comfortable corner

If you’re looking for a fun way to refresh your room this fall, consider adding a cozy corner. The reading corners and meditation spaces are perfect for the cold weather that comes in and help you stick to them by having designated spaces for hobbies and morning rituals. Even if you reposition the room, you can breathe new life into the space, and add home decoration to the new cozy corner, the cherry on top. Make sure you have a comfortable place with a cozy throw and a small table nearby tiered.

Small shifts in art and accessories

You may feel that there is no need to exchange art in your home, but seasonal prints are a beautiful way to help your home feel like autumn. A deeper color palette, darker frames, and even seasonal photos of your loved ones are easy ways to add home decoration to your space. Small accessories like coffee table books and trinket dishes can also get a simple autumn makeover. Replace accessories in light, neutral colours with richer colours and cozy textures for subtle seasonal shifts.

If you’ve never leaned down to a metallic finish, autumn is the perfect time to try. Brass, bronze and copper are naturally loaned to autumn colour palettes, and sprinkled with these metallics can make you feel comfortable. Think trays, mugs, tapered candle holders and other small accessories. If you want to give your space a fall makeover, consider replacing your kitchen cabinet hardware and dresser drawers for an all-new look that doesn’t cost you a lot of money.

Simple accents

It doesn’t feel like it will fall without earth tones. But instead of reaching for a plastic pumpkin, look at the terracotta, clay and stone pieces that ground the space. This is a great opportunity to enhance the dishes with beautiful stone parts for autumn and holiday entertainment. The clay slabs and bowls create a beautiful tablescape, while the bouquet of flowers and branches look stunning in a clay vase.

Welcome to autumn

As the seasons change, making small and intentional changes at home is an easy way to adopt cozy ground energy without feeling like you’re living within the seasonal passages of a craft store. Whether you layer textures or fill the air with seasonal scents, these small updates will make your space feel fresh and engaging. The best part? You can soak every moment of the season in your home.
