When is the peak leaves of lode Rhode Island?
For most years, bright autumn leaves first arrive in the wooded northwest and clean the southeast. Providence and inland areas aim for early October to mid-October.. By the time you arrive at Newport and the coast, The peak is from mid- to late October to late October.. Based on recent trends, October 14th-31st It’s your sweet spot.
🍁1. Roger Williams Park (Providence)
With its lakes, rolling hills and gardens, this 435-acre city oasis is a favourite of autumn. Take a quiet walk around the lagoon surrounded by autumn colors. It is the perfect blend of city and nature. The eastern streets near Brown University will also shine in colour in October.
🚗2. Newport & Ocean Drive
Symbolic Ocean Drive (Route 138) Along the coast there are 14 miles of winds, with ocean views and vibrant leaves over gentle hills and Fort Adams. Combine with Cliff Walka three-mile walk past a golden-aged mansion embracingly by autumn colors and crash waves.

Set in Bristol Port, Briswold is an arboretum that covers over 300 tree species overlooking Narragansett Bay. The curated gardens are lively in orange, red and yellow. Perfect for dreamy autumn photos.

This inland wooded gem has lakes and trails Ben Fter Trail leading to Stepstone Falls– A calm waterfall surrounded by fiery leaves. Perfect for those looking for the beauty of quiet nature.

take Sunday drive parallel Route 1/1A from Westerly to Wickford– A lively wooden tunnel that reflects the road. Another highlight is Situation loopswirling the reservoir and offering mirror views and tingling shades, especially during the stew art festival in early October.
🌿6. Norman Bird Sanctuary (Middletown/Newport)
With 325 acres of forests, meadows, coastline and around seven miles of trails, this coastal reserve offers peaceful autumn hiking and ocean views surrounded by fall foliage.
🌊7. Beaverter State Park (Jamestown)
The park’s rocky coastline and historic lighthouse, located on the southern tip of Conanicut Island, provides a dramatic background to autumn colours, especially as its coastal foliage peaks in late October or early November.

Technically, in Connecticut, Mystic Just 45 minutes from Providence, its charming coastal views and fall foliage feel like the perfect autumn extension of a Rhode Island road trip.
