This weekend I texted a friend Gemma…
“Life is supposed to feel a little gray at these stages, right?” I asked. It was sad my recent breakup; The dark winter felt endless. And the things I usually enjoyed, like watching movies, taking long walks, and daydreaming about traveling, felt hopelessly uninteresting. Was I depressed or just human?
“Yes, you should feel gray,” she texted back. “Emotions move through you and sparkling emotions replace them. Buy yourself a deli flower today (different in person) and a new shower gel that smells amazing (again in person). Next time I see you, I’ll hug you so tight you’ll be amazed at my savagery.”
Gemma always knows best, so I went outside, shoved through the snow, and plucked a pink flower (pictured above) from the bodega. Since then they have bloomed beautifully and look great on the kitchen counter.

Then Anton and I went in search of a high-end body wash. This one It was a clear winner. You smell so good. And Gemma was right. He felt invigorated by going out into the world, completing high-stakes missions, breathing fresh air, and smiling at strangers.

Then we went home and played together. speed stacking cupswhich I discovered a few years ago at the Guinness World Records Museum. We now have a very fast cup stacker, NGL. And the best part is, when you’re carefully building your little blue tower, you don’t have time to think about missing anyone.

That night, my friend Mo came over to my house. cool stickers How to make a vision board…

…and I fell in love with books because I know how great it is to read a good book this fascinating novel This work depicts the relationship between a female robot and its human owner. It explores themes of intimacy, power, sex, and autonomy, and it kept me up until midnight reading it.

Finally, I read that when you break up with a romantic partner, you often miss not only the actual person, but also the physical contact. The other day, while I was watching TV, a friend of mine wanted to rub my shoulder. From now on, I will also remember to give my friends a shoulder rub if they are having any problems in the future. That’s such a wonderful gift.

I found this lip balm at the store and laughed.
All in all, being sad is hard – I wish I could skip it – but I know I have to ride through the storm. How are you doing these days? What cheers you up when you’re feeling down? Send the biggest hug to everyone (everyone?) who needs it. Shit shit
