As I continued my quest to do less and bring less, I faced a crossroads in what was necessary and what was not. Sorting out needs and wants can be a difficult task, just like sorting out the opinions others have of you and the opinions you have of yourself. This is gray territory for lifelong people pleasers. Where should I start and who should I end up with?
Here is the relationship between our perceived value and our spending. And that’s one of the reasons my relationship with money has never been great.
This concept became crystal clear to me when I used a digital app to catalog my closet. where to. I will write about it in a separate article as it is very helpful. The process itself made me I feel nauseous—I plan to discuss this in a future post. my thing It is an accumulation of my personas, all parts of a whole, but not the whole of me. I am done carrying all that weight.
I took a curious look at my spending habits—I’m not embarrassed— and I see both sides of the coin. I see products that I can’t live without. And when I look at what I’m using, every dayit becomes clear what needs to be done. When you focus on what you really like, it becomes much easier to let go of what you don’t like.
