Around this time of year, I start relying on my husband, who is more stylish than I am, and friends from all walks of life to help me fulfill that eternally elusive fantasy: reading the stars in search of the perfect gift for him. One friend simply texted. “Tools and Tools” (which one tool? what Gear, please! ), while another replied: “No socks until we ask.” But somehow, this year’s curation feels like a one-stop shop for men of all kinds.
Because men can be just like shopping for their parents. difficult. And even if it’s not difficult, expensive. (The aforementioned “gear” can be anything from a new computer to a car.) But there’s one thing men often overlook when looking for a gift for him. very good Playing. They are literally Christmas kids, excited about new toys and excited to break them out.
So ask yourself this question. Why does he feel like a kid again? Maybe a reread? lord of the rings trilogy (then wait again for the expanded version). Maybe you’re tinkering in your garage, building something out of nothing. Maybe it’s getting dressed in the morning and imagining who or what you want to embody that day.
You might find it on the golf course, while watching soccer with your family, or when you pick up your instrument and get lost for a while. The truth is that men romanticize their lives more than we give them. And the right gift will help them live that story a little more fully (so yeah, I have to agree with my friend: not the socks).
Without further ado, here’s our 2025 gift guide for him. Carefully selected to inspire fun, play, and most importantly, make him feel noticed and loved this holiday season.
